and she walked in silence
her heart breaking into a million pieces, her ragged soul hanging in the wind
what had gone wrong? she wondered
where did i lose my grip?
her wide tear rimmed eyes stared vacantly into the wind
her feet taking her down an unknown path
people dodged past her... finally something came searing into her consciousness....a blinding light...
tyres screeched...horns blared....a car swerved around her....waking her from her reverie...
she blinked
reality looked back at her from every corner... and she cried
she cried till she doubled over with pain in the middle of that busy street...
she cried while the world walked past her...
and he watched.. he watched
her broken soul writhe in pain...
he watched her sobs soak the wind
he watched her rock in desperate hopes to calm herself..
he watched as pieces of her very being scattered into the breeze..
he watched as concerned citizens made to soothe her
he watched as her anguish drove them away..
he watched as she tired slowly
he watched as she slept by the street side
she woke
in a grassy patch in a hidden garden
the sun was beginning to kiss the buds on the far edge
should she be afraid?
and then she remembered
she whimpered, one shallow breath escaped her quivering mouth
she sighed and lay back down
she stared up at the sky oblivious
she felt the grass beneath her fingers
she felt the dew on her clothes
she felt nothing...
nothing...
wasnt it too soon for nothing?
how long had it been?
it felt like a moment ago...
she lay there some more
well-written!
